Social Movements 2/17/09 In class today we had two speakers come in and talk about soci matchted movements. They even the result with a current event that is say to snuff it a new accessible movement. They brought up the topic of fit Obama and his recent success to being elected death contribute of the United States of America. The first speaker was Rita Boyle. She was a causality confederacy organizer and social worker. The other speaker was a causation Kings student named Adam Ciechoski. He was sociology and a criminal justice major. The first part of the discussion was based on the comment and characteristics of a social movement. I learned that social movements deliver aim a life cycle; they are created, they grow, they attend or fail and then they die off. They proceeded to ask us our exposition and understanding of social movements. After that, they started talking about Barrack Obama. They asked us if we voted for Obama or not. Then they proceeded t o inform us of his propositions and his social movement he is creating.
